Q: When is the next camp?

A: The Summer Holiday is from July 5 to July 16. Kids can come for both weeks or just one if they prefer.

Q: What will the kids do all day ?

A: Every camp has a different theme, but they all focus on academics in a fun, creative way. The theme for the July 2021 camp is “We’re Going on a Cruise” so every day we’ll study a different country through books, stories, songs and arts & crafts.

For the rest of camp-time, students can choose between:

  • German instruction at an appropriate level, from beginner to advanced grade-level reading comprehension and writing
  • Non-contact physical activity
  • Educational games for English native speakers

Q: What's the camp language?

A: All the adults will speak their own first language with the kids. We're expecting it to be about 60% English and 80% German.

Q: What's the age group for the camp?

A: Ideally kids will be reading and writing independently. For most kids, the ideal age range would be between 6 and 10, but for other kids we can meet in advance to discuss the suitability.

Q: How are you keeping the kids safe considering COVID-19?

A: While the absolute safest place is always at home, The Learning Place is going to great lengths to keep our environment clean and safe. Of course, all the high contact surfaces are cleaned hourly. We have several different rooms so that kids primarily work in small groups of 2-3. Every room has at least 2 windows that will remain open. When the kids are sharing a table in a larger group, there will be clear dividers between them. Lunch will be outdoors, weather permitting. There will be plenty of LOW-CONTACT sports - ping pong, hiking, biking and games of HORSE.

Q: What does the camp cost?

A: The price is CHF 480.- per week.

Q: Is there a minimum number of weeks?

A: No, the kids can join for just one week if they'd like.

Q: Do you offer discounts?

A: Yes, there's a 10% discount for siblings. There's also a 10% discount for kids who attend both weeks of the February 2021 holiday.

Q: This sounds like a lot of learning. Will the camp still be fun?

A: Yes, SO fun!

Q: How do we sign up?

A: Send us a quick note at We'll send you back a few questions about your children and an invoice for the deposit.
