Q: What will the kids do all day ?
A: The camp will focus on academic creativity - the production of an independent creation, either a short story for publication or a family game for production.
For the rest of camp-time, students can choose between:
The students and parents will receive an interest questionnaire and we'll build the "extras" around that.
Q: What's the camp language?
A: All the adults will speak their own first language with the kids. We're expecting it to be about 60% English and 40% German.
Q: What's the age group for the camp?
A: Ideally kids will be reading and writing independently. For most kids, the ideal age range would be between 6 and 10, but for other kids we can meet in advance to discuss the suitability.
Q: How are you keeping the kids safe considering COVID-19?
A: While the absolute safest place is always at home, The Learning Place is going to great lengths to keep our environment clean and safe.
Q: What does the camp cost?
A: The price is CHF 480.- per week.
Q: Is there a minimum number of weeks?
A: No, the kids can join for just one week if they'd like. However, in order to bring their work to full publication, we'll need at least three weeks of participation. Kids who can't join for that long can still go through all the steps of production, but they probably won't have enough time to put all the finishing touches on their work.
Q: Do you offer discounts?
A: Yes, there's a 10% discount for siblings. There's also a 10% discount for kids who attend 4 weeks and a 15% discount for kids who attend all 6 weeks of the summer holiday.
Q: This sounds like a lot of learning. Will the camp still be fun?
A: Yes, SO fun!
Q: How do we sign up?
A: Send us a quick note at info@thelearningplace.ch We'll send you back the interest questionnaire and an invoice for the deposit.
